Carolyn Hannan has been entertaining audiences across the country and in Ireland with her warm voice, gentle guitar and vast repertoire of Irish, Scottish and World War II music. From Celtic music festivals to military reunions, Carolyn sings the songs that bring a smile, a tear or a memory. Her engaging, personable demeanor along with her entertaining repartee leaves her fans wanting more.
Carolyn started singing, playing the guitar and writing music as a young teen. She trained vocally in Charleston, South Carolina and at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia and studied guitar privately and at George Washington University. Her professional career began with Irish folk music in her native Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and quickly grew to include venues along the east coast. Along the way she performed in musical theater, which introduced Broadway show tunes into her already expansive repertoire. A chance hearing of Vera Lynn’s “The White Cliffs of Dover” began a life long love of World War II music which she performs with her pianist or her “Little Big Band.”
Today, Carolyn lives in Cinnaminson, New Jersey (a suburb of Philadelphia) and performs in Celtic music festivals, private parties, reunions and an occasional Caribbean cruise.
